Clarence Clemons

Hello! I am a famous black person and I’m going to walk you through my
life. I was born on January 11, 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia. I grew up
around Chesapeake, Virginia. At first, I wanted to be a football
lineman, until I got an injury. Now, I am Bruce Springsteen’s
saxophonist. I also play the moroccos for Bruce Springsteen. Sometimes
during the concerts, I give my moroccos away, especially if it’s a
young girl asking for them. How many of you know who Bruce Springsteen
is? Well, he is the main singer for the E-Street band. I joined the
E-Street band in October of 1972. I have been playing for Bruce
Springsteen for over 30 years. My arrival into the band is celebrated
with the song “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out”. My nickname is ‘The Big Man’.
I’ve also recorded with other artists. I did a vocal duet with Jackson
Browne, and did a saxophone solo for Aretha Franklin’s, “Freeway of
Love”. I also recorded some solo CDs when I was not working for Bruce
Springsteen. I just recently had a hip replacement surgery, which
limits me. Nevertheless, I still tour with Bruce Springsteen whenever
he tours, because I love to play the saxophone.
WHO AM I?
