Eugenie Clark by C.S.
Hi, I’m Dr.
Eugenie Clark a marine biologist and I’m going to talk about my life. I
was born in 1922 in New York City, New York. Well, I was 9 years old I
visited the N.Y. aquarium for the 1st time! I was so fascinated by the
fish, especially the sharks. After that I would visit the aquarium
every week. Dr. Charles M. Breder was my friend, teacher and, mentor.
He was the greatest influence in my life. He saw that I was determined
(eager) to learn.
Well now, I am a marine biologist. I study the ocean
life. I scuba dive and submersible dive. Saving the Coral Reef is one
of my big contributions and making people aware of how important the
Coral Reef is to ocean life. Also, training sharks how to push a button
to get food. I like to think I made life better by teaching people
about sharks and other marine life. Sharks really don’t go after
humans, they’re just hungry. Some of my character traits are
determination, friendly, and eager to learn. I was also in the field of
zoology, scuba diving. One of my greatest problems is trying to teach
people about the coral reef and how important it is to the ocean world.
William Beebe and David Doubilet are some famous people that I worked
with. Willaim Beebe – he is a great underwater explorer. David Doubilet
– he is an underwater photographer for the “National Geographic”
Magazine. My message to the students would be even though you can’t see
the fish in the ocean, they are just as important to this planet as the
people, and animals and the environment and that we are all connected!
So kids remember, always listen to parents and, never give
up!!!!!!
