At Bollman Bridge Elementary, staff development is focusing on technology as a tool for both learning and teaching during the 2002-03 school year.   We will be looking at different aspects of Office (ie. Excel, Word, and Powerpoint) and how we can use these tools to be more effective educators.
If you would like to see the
schedule of  our in-service sessionsjust click here. As the year goes on, we may discover additional ways of using this Web site as a means of communicating and learning.  Please feel free to email us with any ideas or thoughts that you have.

As the year winds to a close, a lot of the teachers are presenting to each other their portfolios.  Although not all of the portfolios were technology related, many were.  I'm grateful for the opportunity of working with a number of teachers on their projects.  I have learned as much as they did (if not more).  Click here to see some pictures from one of  the presentation meetings.  I want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome at Bollman Bridge.  I wish everyone a restful and safe summer.   -T. Cole
At every elementary school in Howard County there is the yearly Reflection Project. To be honest, I don't know that much about it, except that the PTA (and especially Ann Ginty) is involved in it each year.  Click here to see some of this year's projects.  It will be a slow load, but trust me, the art work is worth it.   The kids did a great job!!!
The fourth grade and fifth grade are creating their own newspaper.   The fourth grade paper is called "The BBES Wizards". The fifth grade paper is called "The Gossiping Beaver". I am putting the paper on line tonight.  I will continually try to update it with pictures and new articles.
Not to be out done by either fourth or fifth grade,  Mrs. Cline's first graders also are putting out a paper.  It is called "The Star".
This is the link to the
second grade newspaper. I am doing this a bit differently. I will make it into a digital paper.  Click here and see what I am talking about.
I am also creating pdfs of the newspaper. If you would like to download the pdfs,
click here. You will need Acrobat Reader to read the pdf. But it is a free program and easy to find.   I also have the PowerPoint presentation we are doing for career day. I am not sure it will work if you have a pc rather than an Apple. But it might.

I  am still going to create an education links page. But Dave Bond beat me to it, and did an excellent job. I will use many of his ideas for my page. But in the mean time you can click here to the official Education Links Page.
