Derek Jeter by B.M.
Hello, I am Derek Jeter. Let me tell you about my life. I was born on
June 26, 1974 in Pequannock, New Jersey. My parents made me and my
sister sign a contract every year so they new we would try to achieve
the goals on the contract for school and athletics on the contract.
This helped me learn to set reasonable goals I could accomplish. When I
was young I admired David Winfeild because he was a good Yankee
outfielder and made the All-Star team 12 times. Playing shortstop and
being a Yankee captain is my job. My most important contribution was
hard work to help my team win the World Series 3 years in a row! That
had not happened in 30 years! I have made life better for people by
creating the Turn 2 Foundation. Turn 2 Foundation was created to stop
teenage drug use. My working character traits are hard work and being a
team player. Baseball is a team sport and you need everyone to
win. my other experience was creating the Turn 2 Foundation. My
greatest problem was my lack of confidence in the Minor Leagues. I
didn’t play well because I was homesick. My message and final words
today is hard work pays off, I became a well know baseball player
because of my hard work.
