    Hello! I work as an astronaut and a physician.  A physician is a type of doctor.  An astronaut is someone who explores space. I was selected out of 2,000 people to join NASA (The National Aeronautics and Space Administration) as a mission specialist.  After I had been in NASA for 5 years I became the first African American to be an astronaut.  7 astronauts were killed in a space shuttle accident, but that didn’t stop me.  One project I worked on was seeing how tadpoles would develop in space with no gravity.  Who am I?
