We would like to tell you about
the parts of a hoof and two other parts of a horse.
The horses hoof is very important
because just like with our shoes that we wear for our feet, same thing
with horses they have their shoes for their feet. To prevent
splitting and chipping.
One important thing that you
check when you clean a hoof is called the frog . Which is in the middle
of the hoof. The outside of the frog is called the wall .Which is
the hard part on the bottom. The horny wall is the hard
part on the top. When it has been 6 months the farrier comes in and
clips the toe because just like with our finger nails the
horse toe will curl then they can’t do anything. The part between the
frog and the wall is called the white line. I t is called the
white line because you can’t see it . Just remember never pick the frog.
Another important part of a
horse is the ears because you can tell how the horse feels. For
example if the horse’s ears are down the horse is mad, if
the horse’s ears are up they are okay to get near.
Another important part is the
teeth because the doctor can tell how old the horse is
