Barry Sanders by G.D.C.
Hi I’m Barry Sanders, and this is a little bit of information about my
life. I was born in Wichita, Kansas to be exact. I was born
on July 16, 1968. I have eight sisters, two brothers, a dad who
was a carpenter, and a mom who ran a really strict household. I
struggled in school. My hardest part was homework because my house was
so loud. I had a number of heroes. They were “ Little” Joe
Washington of the Redskins, Tony Dorsett of the Cowboys, and Greg Putts
and Billy Sims, both of the Green bay Packers.
In my work, I
was involved in playing football. I was very fortunate to be this
lucky in life, to go to the NFL draft in 1989 when I should still be on
college. I skipped out because Oklahoma State was in big trouble for
recruiting players. Halfway through the year. I was the first
number one pick in the NFL draft. So I played football as my
job. I received a Headsman Trophy in 1988. I was also the
first junior to ever win it. Also I ran away with the Detroit Lions
rushing title 10,172 yards in 7 seasons. Eric Dickerson and me are the
only people to ever do this. fame. Also I’m in the hall of Fame. I’m
also a member of Athletes for Abstinence. It is a group that tells kid
to make better choices in there life. My charter trait I think is nice.
I say that because I donated a lot of time and money and time to cancer
relief. I would like to do something like my dad and be a roofer or a
carpenter. My greatest problem was school. If I hade one message to
give to the kid’s of today it would be there is always a way to work
harder.
