I'm not exactly sure how to show this
as an artifact.
Perhaps I can (with password protection) video tape the children
putting away the
computers in the mobile lab after a session.
But I do think one of the learning experiences the children experienced
this year
is simply how to coexist and work with a computer.
They know how to turn it on, how to go to TeacherWeb and find a given
site.
They know how to log off and shut down and make sure the computer isn't
breathing.
Many of them know what to do if the computer doesn't turn on
immediately.
They know how to check the battery.
This is a form of technological literacy that some adults don't have.
So if I were to document this, I would simply turn on the video camera,
tell the children to put away the computers.
And then show you how they can indeed handle this.
Not bad for 21 seven and eight year olds.
