The Mysterious Fate of Captain Smith

Captain Smith was the captain of the Olympic which is one of the sister ships of the Titanic.  After he was the captain of the Titanic, he was going to retire and spend some more time with his daughter and wife.  He ended up on the Titanic because no one else wanted to be the captain this new ship.   When the Titanic hit the iceberg, he was in his room and all of a sudden he felt a huge bump.  He walked out and asked the officers what happened.  The offiicers said that the Titanic had hit an iceberg.    So Captain Smith checked and asked, "Have you shut down the boiler rooms?"  

One of the theories about Captain Smith was that he did die manning the steering wheel of the ship.  A second theory is that he escaped off the boat and saved a babies life. He carried it to a boat and put it on the boat where it would be safe.  Then he vanished.  Nobody knows exactly how he died.
